The Capital Development Authority (CDA) board has approved naming roads, underpasses and metro stations of the federal capital after five national heroes in recognition of their valuable services to the country.

According to sources, these national figures include Pir Sibghatullah Shah Rashidi (Pir Pagara Shaheed), Dr. Jameel Jalibi, Mahmood Ali, Brigadier Mustafa Barki Shaheed and Naveed Sadiq Sial Shaheed.

Pir Sibghatullah Shah Rashidi (Pir Pagara) belonged to Khairpur Sindh. He was born in 1910. He was the spiritual leader of the Hurs. He became Pir Pagara at the age of 12. He was arrested in 1941 and imprisoned in an Indian jail. Later he was transferred to Hyderabad Jail. The service road West of Sector G-7 Islamabad is named after him. Its new name is Pir Sibghatullah Shah Rashidi Road.

The G-11 service road East Islamabad is named after Tehreek-e-Pakistan activist Mahmood Ali. He was born on September 1, 1919, in Assam. He died on November 17, 2006. He was a politician and participated in the Pakistan movement. He was the provincial general secretary of the Muslim League Assam. He was the Minister of Finance and Jail in East Pakistan. He led a Pakistani delegation to the United Nations in 1971. Former Prime Minister Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Bhutto gave him the status of federal minister for life which remained with him till his death.

Dr. Jameel Jalibi was a well-known critic, researcher and writer. He was born in Aligarh on 12th June 1929. He died in Karachi on 18th April 2019. He was also the Vice-Chancellor of Karachi University and head of Muqtadra Qaumi Language. He was awarded Sitra-i-Imtiaz, Hilal-i-Imtiaz and Nishan-i-Imtiaz. The metro station Pak Secretariat is named after him. The major road dividing F XI 3 and 4 is named after Brigadier Mustafa Barki Shaheed. He belonged to the ISI. He traced the network of outlawed TTP in Peshawar, North and South Waziristan and eliminated the terrorist network. He was martyred on March 21, 2023 as a result of firing by terrorists in South Waziristan.

The Rawal Dam underpass is named after Naveed Sadiq Sial Shaheed. He was martyred on January 3, 2023 in Khanewal. He joined the police as a sub-inspector. Later he joined the ISI. He was the head of the CTD wing and destroyed terrorist networks in Faisalabad and Gujranwala. He was given Sitar-i-Shujaat on March 23, 2023.
